The 4th-year students of Telecommunications and Networking recently had the opportunity to visit the Metfone Data Center one of the largest and most advanced data centers in Cambodia. The visit was a resounding success, with students gaining valuable insights into the real-world workings of a data center as well as the career opportunities available in the field.
During the visit, students were given a tour of the data center’s facilities, including its servers, storage systems, and networking equipment. They also had the chance to learn about the data center’s security measures and its role in supporting Metfone’s mobile and internet services.
In addition to the tour, students also participated in a Q&A session with Metfone experts. This was a valuable opportunity for students to learn more about the day-to-day work of data center engineers and to get advice on how to prepare for a career in the field.
The visit to the Metfone Data Center was a valuable experience for all involved. Students gained a deeper understanding of the telecommunications and networking industries, as well as the skills and knowledge required to be successful in this field. Finally, we would like to express our gratitude for the warm welcome and for giving our students the chance to learn from the Metfone Data Center workers and management about the practical operations and employment prospects at a data center.
